The ministry of altar server in the Catholic Church is very unique. Aside from priests and deacons, no one else has the opportunity to participate so closely in the Sacrifice of the Mass as an altar server. Everything they do is a witness to their love of Jesus in the celebration of the Mass. 

Children and teenagers (grades 3 and up) serve at Sunday and Holy Day Masses, as well as at funerals and weddings. Great care is taken to instruct each server on how to perform all duties and responsibilities with dignity and reverence. Adults are welcome to serve at the Sunday, 8:00 am Mass.
